- Complete a minimum of 2 and maximum of 3 of the following Artist-Oriented Activities (you may NOT choose The Beatles):
- Complete and Individual Artist Information Sheet on a famous Rock and Roll musician. Choose a musician or band that first came onto the scene during the 1960s. (NOT the Beatles!) (10%)
- Find a website or homepage for a 1960's Rock Artist and complete an Artist Information Sheet for that artist/group. (NO Beatles!) (10%)
- Watch one of the following movies about 1960s rock stars complete a Movie Biography Worksheet:
- The Rose (loosely based on the life of Janis Joplin
- The Doors (starring Val Kilmer - Rated "R", so get parent permission!
- Imagine: John Lennon, Deluxe Edition
- No Direction Home: Bob Dylan (directed by Martin Scorsese
- Make a list of 6 important musicians and/or bands from the 1960s. Tell what they played, list at least 2 of their hit songs (with the year released) and why each one was important and unique to the history of rock and roll. (10%)
- Complete the 1960s Music Listening Worksheet. Links to the songs on the worksheet are below (15%).

The effect it had on Youth in the US and how a movement was started
Sex was a huge deal in the 1960s everyone was having it and they weren't shy about it sharing it either. A hit club called The Cavern where all of the kids hung out and listened to Rock bands play. Fans of the Beatles were so obsessed they coined the phrase "Beatlemania"

In the 1960's the British Invasion began, leading to many great hit songs and bands. This was also a time where partying was taking over, and drugs were sky rocketting. The sounds of music was being enhanced meaning that music would change in our eyes forever.
