Three things I learned from the video were that a lot of people got tired of being depressed and alone so they killed themselves. A lot of great musicians died too (figuratively and physically) such as Janis Joplin. Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin were both very lonely and didn't have family, which led Janis to drink and do drugs and died. Finally, Rock n' Roll started from soul pretty much every genre did, It wasn't just for black people as long as they sang it with "soul"-like gospel- than the African American community accepted them. -Courtney Hines 10-25-13
